A New Era for Passport Services in Doha

Introduction to the Move

Exciting news for residents and expats in Doha, Qatar! The Ministry of Interior (MoI) recently announced a significant change that many have been waiting for: the relocation of the General Directorate of Passports. Moving from its previous location in Al Gharafa, the new headquarters now sits proudly in the Wadi Al-Banat area. This transition marks a fresh start for passport services, aiming to enhance user experience and efficiency.

Operational Details

Starting from Sunday, September 10, 2023, the new passports office will officially commence operations. The new facility has been designed with the needs of its visitors in mind, ensuring a streamlined process. Operating hours for the office are set from Sunday to Thursday, making it convenient for individuals looking to manage their passport requirements during the workweek.

The daily schedule is divided into two shifts:

  • Morning Shift: 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Evening Shift: 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM

This setup allows for flexibility, accommodating a variety of schedules.

Visitor Access and Amenities

Visitors to the new passports office have easy access through Gates 1 and 3. To facilitate their experience, ample parking is provided in Basement B1, making it convenient for those who choose to drive. The design of the new premises not only focuses on functionality but also strives to create a pleasant environment for all who visit.

Attention for Professionals

In addition to serving individual passport seekers, the MoI has issued a special note for Public Relations Officers (PROs) of companies. These professionals are encouraged to visit the External Services Centers for any corporate-related passport needs. This directive underscores the Ministry’s commitment to supporting both the general public and business operations in Qatar.

Finding Your Way

To make the transition easier for everyone, the MoI has included a QR code leading to a map for the new location of the passports office. By scanning this code, visitors can conveniently navigate their way to the new facility without any hassle. This tech-savvy approach reflects the Ministry’s commitment to modernizing public service and improving accessibility.

Conclusion

With the General Directorate of Passports moving to a more accessible and streamlined location in Wadi Al-Banat, residents can expect an improved service experience. From convenient working hours to dedicated access points, the updates reflect a modern and user-friendly approach to passport services in Qatar. Stay tuned for more updates as the MoI continues to enhance its services for citizens and expats alike.
