Tanzania Immigration Department Announces Selection of New Recruits

DODOMA – In an encouraging development for youth employment and national service, the Tanzania Immigration Department has announced the successful selection of 331 young recruits. These candidates successfully navigated the rigorous screening process that took place on January 15, 2025. This initiative aims to bolster the workforce of the department as it seeks to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in immigration services across the country.

Training Commencement and Location

The Commissioner General of Immigration made an official announcement on Wednesday, directing the selected candidates to begin their training on March 1, 2025. The training will be conducted at the esteemed Raphael Kubaga Immigration Training College, located in Boma Kichakamiba, Mkinga District, Tanga Region. This institution is known for equipping recruits with essential skills and knowledge necessary for their roles in immigration services.

For those selected through the Zanzibar Immigration Commissioner, they are required to report to the Southern Unguja Regional Immigration Office in Tunguu on February 24, 2025, ahead of their training. This ensures a streamlined onboarding process tailored to the specific requirements of recruits from the Zanzibar region.

Travel Arrangements and Health Checks

A vital note from the Immigration Department indicates that all travel expenses incurred by the recruits from their homes to the training college will be the responsibility of the candidates themselves. This stipulation emphasizes the importance of personal accountability among these future immigration officers.

Moreover, it is crucial for each selected candidate to undergo a mandatory medical examination prior to the start of the training program. This step is essential to ensure that all recruits are in good health and physically suitable to undertake the demands of their roles. Candidates who are found unfit due to any health issues during these examinations will not be permitted to participate in the training program, highlighting the department’s commitment to maintaining a capable and healthy workforce.

Accessible Information for Candidates

For the convenience of the selected recruits and their families, the full list of candidates who have made it through the selection process is readily accessible online. Candidates can obtain this information by visiting the official website of the Tanzania Immigration Department at www.immigration.go.tz. This digital transparency ensures all concerned parties can easily verify the results and facilitate necessary planning for the upcoming training.

The announcement comes at a time when the government is keen on promoting employment opportunities for young people in the country. With the dynamic challenges in immigration management, the infusion of new talent is expected to bring fresh perspectives and enhanced capabilities to the department.

The initiative is not just about filling positions; it represents an investment in the future of Tanzania’s immigration services. It fosters a sense of duty among youth, encouraging them to contribute positively to national development while ensuring safety and regulation within Tanzania’s borders.

As these recruits prepare for the next stage in their careers, there is palpable excitement and anticipation within communities as young men and women take a step towards public service and engage in meaningful work that safeguards the well-being of Tanzanians and visitors alike.
